Rhetoric (High) School

College Preparatory with Honors Classes Available

Ninth through Twelfth Grade

The SGCA high school program exists to cultivate wisdom and virtue in its students in order for them to become leaders and light bearers. We encourage students to live out a Biblical worldview. By means of the liberal arts of dialectic and rhetoric, we prepare students to think well, reason well, and persuade convincingly for the glory of God.

Students shift to using knowledge and the skill of argument to write and speak effectively.

Our Key Focus Points

Art of Expression

Students learn to express themselves with fluency, grace, elegance, and persuasiveness.

Develop the ability to successfully speak as a matter of skill and practice.

Able to argue persuasively on both sides of an argument and how to articulate the facts.

Developing the Whole Student

At SGCA we are developing the whole student, this included virtue formation, leadership skills, exploration of new ideas, science, math, and more.

We introduce them to richness of multiple languages

And teach Christian ethics, Biblical Worldview, and much more!

College Preparatory

Our students develop into strong, well adjusted young adults ready for the next level of learning, college.

That’s why we offer honors level and college preparatory courses, so they can graduate from SGCA with all the credentials and grades to get into the best colleges.

The purpose of the Senatores Leadership Team is the development of leadership/collaborative skills, and mentoring opportunities for high school students. Our leadership program is a special opportunity within SGCA for those students who are academic achievers with high integrity. Students will receive mentoring, leadership training classes, service hours/opportunities, mentoring for younger students, and encouragement throughout the school year from their Advisor. We call these special leaders our Senatores Solae Gratiae!

Students can qualify in these three steps:
1. Students will need to remain in good academic standing, with a B+ average or higher to remain a Senator.
2. Students should demonstrate a high standard of behavior when on and off campus, refraining from getting into any situations that would require documented disciplinary action.
3. Each Senator serves throughout the community on a daily basis from greeting younger students as they come in from carpool to serving as judges for Science Fair! Plenty of opportunities to be leaders are given to Senatores per semester.

Activities:
1. Friday Leadership Training curriculum for Senatores only, led by an Advisor.
2.Student Council Representatives and committees
3. Mentoring from your Committee Advisor
4. Service hours and certificate at year end
