What Our Program Offers Families
Homeschooling can seem overwhelming when you are going it all alone. Here are some key benefits our parents experience from the hybrid homeschool approach:
High Quality Classes
it’s hard to provide expert teaching on subjects you may not know. It’s also nice to have your student learn to be accountable to someone other than Mom or Dad for their work.
With Sola Gratia, there’s a team of mentors who work together to teach the students, but the parent still maintains oversight on what the child is learning.
Drop off Privileges
We offer a carpool program where students are safely escorted to their cars for K-3rd and an organized exit for all other students.
Students are dismissed at staggered times based on their grade/age and the number of riders.
Many of our families carpool together. We have a carpool organizer that will help you find someone to carpool with.
Social Network
Friendships are important for children. We provide a safe environment for students to flourish in relationships with other like minded students/families.
Social opportunities such as lunch period, sports, after school clubs, field trips, end of the year field days, dances, and more, are a part of the SGCA experience for students.

Focus on Faith, Academics, and Service
At Sola Gratia, our core focus is not only on academics, but also faith and service because we are educating both heads as well as hearts. We want students to better understand the world around them and develop a love for God’s creations in the world around them.
Community Committed to Classical Learning
We are a community of intelligent individuals committed to the cultivation and preservation of classical learning. We teach logic and critical thinking skills along with other important topics such as grammar in our quest for total immersion into academia.
Provide a Meaningful, Enriching Curriculum
Learning should be meaningful, creatively engaging and informative. Grammar, logic, and rhetoric are the traditional art forms that make up a classical education for today’s students looking to succeed in this competitive world. Classical curricula teaches students to engage with the world around them; thinking critically, analyzing information, and developing logical, well thought out arguments and supports for their opinions. Ultimately, we teach the skills of persuasion and argument for those who have a heart to share the gospel with those around them!
Art, Music, and Theater
Music, art and theater are all important aspects of a classical education. They also help to educate the whole child. They offer creative outlets that help students develop skills for life beyond the classroom. They also help form the loves of a student as we present the True, Good and Beautiful to them through the medium of the Arts.
Virtue Formation
Classical students reach wisdom through the combination of academic rigor and virtue formation. We strive to help students walk in virtue throughout their entire day. We begin the morning with a concentrated time of discussion and activities based around the We Choose Virtues curriculum. We then use liturgy, collaborative playground activities, service projects, and high expectations for godly behavior to help come alongside parents in developing virtue in their students.
Service Projects
Part of virtue formation is the ability to serve others above oneself. We provide opportunities monthly for students to serve the communities beyond SGCA. These projects are completed during a student’s lunch period once per month. They are in partnership with other ministries around Wake County and beyond.
Contemplative Lunches
Contemplative lunch times are offered monthly. During this time, individual or groups come in and perform or teach about something gives our students a larger view into how God can use their own gifts and talents for His glory.
Learning Celebrations
Learning Celebrations are a great way for students to share with parents what they have been learning in a fun and tangible way. We schedule these celebrations throughout the year as punctuation marks of learning. Children are able to see their progress from hard work on tests or projects by celebrating those successes together with their community.
Easy Online Access and Record Keeping
Tuition covers the cost of our online learning management program, ClassReach, that organizes coursework, grades, and helps make homeschooling record-keeping easier. Students can turn in lessons online if they miss class time, view their assignments, communicate with staff, and keep up with their grades.
Monthly Field Trips During the School Year
Optional community-wide monthly field trips are offered throughout the school year. This gives us a chance to spend time together learning something new and having fun! It’s a great opportunity for parents, mentors, and kids to connect and participate in these excursions outside of regular lessons time.
Sports Activities
Physical education is a great way for students to stay active and develop friendships. With the after school table tennis and volleyball programs, they can challenge themselves against other students, or themselves, to grow in their physical capabilities, and deepen their friendships through shared experiences.
After School Clubs
Our clubs vary from semester to semester based on available instructors or organizations that come into our community. Clubs we have done after school are: chess, theater, choir and board games.
This is a way for students to hone new skills and collaborate with friends for mutual success.
