Curriculum Overview
SGCA Hybrid Model
Sola Gratia Classical Academy Inc. is a Christian classical hybrid homeschool community with a more gentle college preparatory purpose. We believe that the best way to educate our students is with a classical education based on wisdom that has stood the test of time.
Classic Education Journey
As students progress through the upper elementary, logic, and rhetoric levels we increase our academic rigor to reflect a gentle college preparatory level of education, increasing their ability to become highly academic students. Through embodied learning and diligent pacing, we help our students develop a relationship with what they study, while also providing an orderly and purposeful introduction to the Liberal Arts.
Acquisition of Academic Skills
We maintain our pursuit of excellence in the classical tradition. We put practices in place to guide virtue formation, recognizing that virtue formation must accompany academic instruction in order to reach wisdom. Christ is at the center of all we teach. We are educating hearts and heads. In the high school years, many of our classes are at the honors/AP level, allowing for students to take some AP exams if they should so choose. We seek to be a college preparatory community with our focus on preparing students to be successful in college both academically, and as students of faith who are able to articulate, defend, and persuade for the gospel.

Leadership Opportunities
At Sola Gratia, we want to equip our children to be future leaders able to take what they learn back into society.
18-20 students are hand picked and nominated to become Senatores each year out of our 65+ students in Rhetoric. These students have a professing relationship with Christ, achieve academic excellence, and have high integrity and character. They all have an interest in developing servant leadership skills and bless the SGCA community.
The benefits of being a Senator are vast, but some are as follows:
1. An Academic Advisor over this program that pours into our students in virtue formation, leadership training skills, collaboration in leadership opportunities campus wide, and prayer.
2. Strong social network with frequent socials and meet ups.
3. Weekly virtue formation training and Biblical discipleship through our Advisor who gets to know these students well and can mentor and hold accountable to help them achieve their highest good.
4. Peer to peer monthly Bible discussions over lunch led by Senators.
5. Playground rotation to mentor and play with our K-3rd students.
6. Run student orientations as they set the tone and cultivate a purposeful culture of godliness on campus.
7. Run a campaign for President or Vice President or assist on a campaign team. Full scale community wide election process including all students and an electoral college nominated by Senatores.
8. In charge of all socials for the year with the student body from Rhetoric dances to spirit days.
9. Graduate with Senator honor color, chord and medal for those who have served two years of their Rhetoric school career at SGCA.
These are just some of the amazing opportunities our Senators get to be a part of as they grow in Christ and develop their leadership skills!
