What do you get with your student’s educational services plan?

Highly Qualified Academic Mentors

Our Academic Mentors are passionate, highly qualified “masters of their art.” Our Academic Mentors provide the core instruction for your student’s in-class campus experience. They prayerfully set the scope and sequence, do all lesson planning and prep materials, teach the lessons in person, grade, and plan materials for the student to continue learning from home.

Our Academic Mentors provide so much more than instruction to your students; they Mentor students and help them pursue virtue formation, academic excellence, and a love for learning! They are available via our ClassReach system on days not on campus if questions or a need arises for your student/you.

Join our amazing team!  Great discounts, training, and impact students for Christ in your area of passion.

Weekly Academic Instruction

We provide two full days (9:00am-3:30pm) of Academic Instruction across 34 weeks for our K-3rd Lower Grammar Students.

We provide two full days (9:00am-3:30pm) of Academic Instruction across 34 weeks for our 4th- 6th, Upper Grammar and 7th-8th, Logic students.

We provide three days – two full days (8:50am-3:30pm) and a 3/4 quarter day (9:00am-2:30pm) across 34 weeks for our 9th – 12th, Rhetoric Students.

Our Senators Leadership program is a nomination based program for Rhetoric students that desire to learn how to be servant leaders.  Nominees are in Christ, show good potential for leadership, excel academically, have good character, and desire to be a role model.   These are our culture makers at SGCA!  This is a top notch program for students who desire to lead!

Virtue Formation

Virtue formation is the heart of our program and what sets us apart from other classical communities. We are educating hearts as well as heads, helping students to order their loves.

We seek to cultivate virtues in our students through daily virtue formation classes to begin their day.  In addition, we provide monthly service project opportunities and invite community guests in to perform during what we call “contemplative lunches” and finally, our Senator Leadership Team program is the capstone; all work together to form virtue in our student body.

Contemplative Lunches

We invite a monthly member of the larger outside community to join our students during their lunchtime. This person (or group) often performs or presents for our students while they are eating. The type of people we bring in are musician, authors, artists, dog trainers, theaters or other unique talents that will help our students learn to love things that are true, good, and beautiful. These lunches provide intentional spaces of contemplation for our students and help them envision ways the Lord may one day allow them to use their own gifts and talents to bring Him glory.

Core Work Assignments

We recognize the importance of repetition and practice for a student to master the materials they are learning. We also recognize that your life is busy, so our academic mentors do the heavy lifting for you. We provide the assignments for your student to complete at home, effectively creating a 4-5 day program for each student. As a homeschool parent, you can expect to be a guide to your student helping them when they have questions, but you will not have to plan out any curriculum course work!

Encouraging and Equipping Parents

We know that homeschooling is a challenging calling, and from time to time you need to know you’re not alone! We provide several mom’s events throughout the year which give you the encouragement and refreshment you need to keep being the mother you are called to be! We also ask that at least one parent attend a minimum of one classical continuing education class with us for the year, where we will explore various topics within classical education to better equip Moms and Dads at home.

Free ClassReach Account

Class Reach is a system that allows you to see all your financial and students’ information in one place! You will find each students’ classes and assignments for those classes through Class Reach! You can also easily communicate with your student’s Academic Mentors through the messaging system. You can see and print grade reports.  There is also access to announcements, calendar of events, upcoming events, forms and documents – it’s a one stop shop location for all your needs related to your students participation at SGCA.  Class Reach makes homeschooling with Sola Gratia simple! We provide a Class Reach account to both parents and students at no cost!

Learning Celebrations

We provide learning celebrations throughout the year to punctuate what students are learning and provide parents with the opportunity to see their students growth and successes.

Some of our learning celebrations include:
*Science Fair
*Wax Museum
*Poetry Cafe’
*Theater/Choir performances
*End of the Year Awards Ceremony

Formal Graduation Ceremony for all graduating Seniors.  This is a wonderful time to celebrate your student’s accomplishments and celebrate on stage with family and friends!

Field Trip Opportunities

We plan monthly field trips for you and your students to join. Field Trips are an excellent way to meet and interact with other families. Field Trips are also a great way to provide fun and meaningful learning experiences outside of the the typical classroom setting. Field trips are always optional, and some may have additional costs.

Smaller Class Sizes

We seek to keep our class enrollments around 16 students in a most classes. In Lower Elementary classrooms (K-3rd) we provide an additional helper in the class, making the student to mentor ratio 6 to 1.

We also provide a reading specialist for all K-3rd students who helps place students into reading groups and identify struggling readers to provide support and resources for parents.

Clubs

We offer clubs that range from 6-12 weeks in length throughout the school year.  Some clubs we’ve offered are chess, board games, theater, worship band, and other clubs as interest and opportunity allow.

Sports

We offer intramural volleyball and table tennis sports in the fall, winter, and/or spring. Depending on interest and available coaches.

Let us know if you want to coach an intramural team!

Hot Lunches

Students may purchase hot lunches twice a month to be brought in for lunch.  We have arrangements to provide two vendors menus each month for our students and staff.

Service Projects

Students in grades 4th through 8th grade work to serve the community beyond SGCA through service projects during their lunch period each month.  The types of projects they participate in are things like making dog toys for the SPCA, blankets for Linus Project, Ronald McDonald House or other ministries.

Returning Family Enrollment Fees

$275 per student, $800 max per family, due annually by February 1st for re-enrollment in the community

Curriculum Supplies and Books

We provide curricula links and a supply list for our families each spring. Cost will vary depending on grade. Applications will be processed once the $50 new student application fee is received.

Terms of Payment

Registration fees are due upon receipt of your Application and is non-refundable once your family is accepted into our program. Once your enrollment fee is paid and your student(s) are accepted into a class, you are contractually obligated to pay the year’s educational services balance,  even if you leave the program mid-semester. We offer 3 different payment plans to choose from! If you would like to split your educational services plan into two payments or 10 monthly payments from April to January, you may elect to do so using ACH withdrawal via ClassReach (no checks) or credit card payment.  All processing fees associated with ACH/credit cards are passed on directly to families. Checks for payment in full should be made payable to Sola Gratia Classical Academy Inc. If a family selects a pay-in-full plan but then changes their mind to a different payment plan, their initial withdrawal will be for all monies due up to that date.

Refunds

Sola Gratia Classical Academy Inc. does not provide refunds for educational services plans, and all monies due remain due in the case of student withdrawal, as per the ACH/Financial Agreement parents sign. Commitments have been made to Academic Mentors’ salaries, building costs, insurance, materials/supplies, etc., and therefore, we can not refund monies to families that decide not to continue with our community once their application and deposit have been received, and they are accepted into our community. This applies to both student withdrawals before the school’s start or during the course of the academic year.

If your student/family is asked to leave the program for any violations in behavior both by the student or parent and any violations of our handbook policies, no refunds are given. If a family fails to pay their educational services plan, their student(s) cannot return to SGCA.

Educational Services Plan Assistance

Prior to inquiring about assistance with the cost of the program, applicants are encouraged to check for open positions by emailing solagratiaclassicalacademy@gmail.com. We pay competitively, with ESP discounts and additional benefits offered to Academic Mentors and their students.

Partial Educational Service Plan (ESP) assistance is available in LIMITED quantities with approved applications. ESP assistance is for a single academic year only. Approval in a previous year does not guarantee approval in a subsequent year. We recognize the varying needs of our community.

If you have questions about ESP assistance or open positions, don’t hesitate to contact the Director at solagratiaclassicalacademy@gmail.com

We do not take Opportunity Scholarships or other government funding. If you are a homeschooling family that qualifies for an ESA award, we can directly bill you. However, due to the nature of our classes and campus behavior expectations, we only take very select students who qualify for an ESA.
